Dr. Alexander Betz has been working exclusively as a criminal defense attorney for over ten years, all this time together with his colleague Philip Müller. Dr. Betz is convinced that justice can only be achieved when arguments clash. You have to be able to endure that.
He studied law in Munich and Coimbra/Portugal from 2003 to 2008. He then worked and taught at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich at the Chair of Public Law and Political Philosophy. Dr. Betz completed his doctorate on a topic of constitutional and European law under Prof. Dr. Peter M. Huber, who then became a judge at the Federal Constitutional Court. He says: I still benefit from what I learned there today. He then completed his legal preparatory service in Munich and at the German Embassy in Lisbon.
Dr. Betz has been working as a lawyer since his second state examination in 2013. He says: I consciously decided against public service and in favor of self-employment. For him, economic independence from the judiciary is the basis for an unbiased and good defense.
